Security setting
NamesLink provides robust security features to safeguard your account.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
For enhanced protection beyond your username and password, we strongly recommend enabling:
- Secure Email:
The email used during account creation becomes your default secure email. → To modify this email, contact customer support.
- MFA Authenticator (Highly Recommended):
Download an authenticator app (e.g., Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator).
Follow in-app instructions to scan the QR code and complete binding. → You can unbind and rebind the authenticator anytime.
- Secure Mobile Number:
Use a regularly accessible phone number to receive verification codes. → Some registrars may charge fees for SMS verification (borne by the user). → Modifiable at any time.
When MFA is triggered, for critical actions like:
-
Listing domain sales
-
Initiating domain transfers
-
Making purchases
-
Updating account details
you must pass MFA verification to proceed.
- Login Security Settings
- Login Alerts:
When enabled, all login attempts trigger an email notification to your secure email.
- Login MFA:
Disabled: Login requires only username + password.
Enabled: Requires additional MFA verification (e.g., authenticator code).
